Want to know the secret of having a blessed day, every day?
Saint John Paul II says:
“The Eucharist is the secret of my day. It gives strength and meaning to all my activities of service to the Church and to the whole world.”
How important is the Holy Eucharist in our spiritual life?
The Holy Eucharist is the “source” of our spiritual life! When we receive the Holy Eucharist we share in the divine life and receive and abundance of God’s grace.
The Holy Eucharist is also the “summit” of our spiritual life because as we are transformed into the holy people of God, we are drawn to participate in the greatest Good of our Lord’s Body and Blood.
The Catechism says:
“The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ ‘The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.’" CCC 1324
Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds conceal me. Do not permit me to be parted from you. From the evil foe protect me. At the hour of my death call me. And bid me come to you, to praise you with all your saints for ever and ever. Amen.
